Tarangire National Park

Set against a backdrop of majestic baobab trees and twisted acacia, and boasting a variety of wildlife as diverse as its landscape with four of the Big Five living within the park.

Serengeti National Park

Characterised by the open plains of grassland, it is one of the best places to see the migration – one of the most spectacular wildlife sightings in the world when almost 2 million animals roam the plains where their movements are governed by the rains.

Masai Mara National Park

Perhaps the only region left in Kenya where you may see animals in the same super abundance as existed a century ago, the reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in open and is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas.

Itinerary

day 1

Arusha

On arrival transfer to hotel on outskirts of Arusha. Rest of day spent at leisure.
day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Departs for Tarangire National Park on a scheduled flight and transfer to camp. In the dry season the Tarangire River provides sanctuary for Tanzania’s highest concentration of elephants and its large population of lions. In the short rainy season the wildlife disperses across the Maasai Steppe. Visitors enjoy an afternoon game drive and a sundowner.

Tarangire National Park

Spend a full day in Tarangire and enjoy the game activities on offer. The park is home to a diversity of large mammals including buffalo, elephant, lion, eland, the fringe-eared oryx, lesser and greater kudu and gerenuk.
day 4

Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park

The tour departs for Kusini in the Serengeti on a scheduled flight, arriving in time for lunch. Few people forget their first encounter with the Serengeti renowned for its wildebeest migration in their millions. The view of endless grasslands from the summit of Naabi Hill, at the park’s entrance, is spectacular. Visitors enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Serengeti National Park

Spend a full day in the Serengeti enjoying the game activities on offer and a picnic lunch. Famed for its resident cheetah, Sanctuary Kusini is ideally positioned for the wildebeest migration (mid-December to April). An evening walk to the top of the nearby kopje offers panoramic views and is highly recommended.
day 6

Serengeti National Park to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Guests have the option of spending the early morning at leisure or on a game drive before the scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. On arrival you are met by a Sanctuary Olonana representative and transferred to camp.
day 7-8

Maasai Mara National Reserve

Spend a full day in the Maasai Mara and enjoy the game activities on offer including an optional walk. The ‘Mara’, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park is, the only remaining region left in Kenya where animals are as prolific as they might have been more than a century ago. ‘Mara’ is the Maa word for ‘spotted’, an apt description of the flat-topped acacia and cloud shadows that mark the open savannah. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the camp’s indigenous tree initiative.

Masai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi

After breakfast transfer to local airstrip for schedules flights to Nairobi (Wilson) Transfer on arrival to a restaurant for lunch then to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for outbound departure.
