Venture Insight

Incredible experiences at world-renowned destinations for those seeking a memorable and challenging experience while exploring the world. Zion National Park is part of Utah’s “Grand Circle” of national parks located on the Colorado Plateau and contains one of the world’s greatest concentrations of natural and cultural features sculpted by wind, water and time.

Difficulty: Gentle

Checkerboard Mesa

It is unlike anything you have seen with the porous Navajo sandstone dominating the landscape of Zion NP where water seeps out along fractures and with shifts in wind direction intensifies the cross-bedding effect on the cliffs.

Great White Throne

The Great White Throne is a natural feature sculpted by erosion of the Navajo Sandstone. It is actually a large monolith rising about 2450 feet from the canyon floor that from a distance with strong sunlight striking it, appears to be a brilliant white.

Emerald Pools

Several hiking options ranging from short and easy to strenuous that meander past lush vegetation and streams of water that roll down the cliffs and form the glistening Emerald Pools - an oasis in the middle of the desert.

Itinerary

day 1

Las Vegas to Zion National Park

Travel to Springdale, Utah, just outside Zion NP. Head into the park + enjoy the first hike together up to Emerald Pools. This mild hike is a beautiful loop trail along a single track, past waterfalls + pools all nesting beneath the massive monolith cliffs of Zion NP. Afterwards head into Springdale, enjoy dinner + walk the many galleries + shops along Main Street.
day 2

Zion Narrows

Another great day in this incredible park. Early rise then off to the Temple of Sinawava to hike the Zion Narrows. Hike up stream through the Virgin River admiring the towering Navajo Sandstone cliffs on each side to the junction of Orderville Canyon. National Geographic’s Adventure Magazine rated hiking the Virgin River Narrows number five in its list of America’s best 100 adventures. A late lunch back in town then relax at the resort. Tonight visit an authentic 1800’s ghost town with pioneer cabins + its own cemetery.
day 3

Zion National Park to Las Vegas

Today, visit the eastern half of the park. Pass through the famous Mt. Carmel Tunnel carved through solid rock in the 1920’s + take a short, but very rewarding sunrise hike to the canyon overlook viewpoint. From here drive east, stopping at a few viewpoints including Checkerboard Mesa, depart mid-afternoon for Las Vegas.
