Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort, Nimmo Islet
A private plane journey transports you into a world of groaning glaciers, tumbling waterfalls and wild bears with a stay at Nimmo Bay, a family-run lodge that takes its eco principles seriously. Join First Nations guides to explore the clear-water channels where dolphins play and eagles soar above, go hiking through the ancient forests that blanket the slopes of Mount Stephens, then feast on homemade truffles while relaxing on your private dock as the starry skies ignite above.
Nimmo Bay Resort is located in the middle of British Columbia’s Great Bear Rainforest and accessed by private float plane from Port Hardy Airport or the Port McNeill Marina. No road access to the resort adds to its remote wilderness experience and getting there is all part of the adventure.
Your Room + Facilities
There are nine cosy two-bedroom cabins to select from, with six set over the intertidal waters of Nimmo Bay and three nestled in the lush forest behind. Each has been carefully constructed to blend in with the surrounding environment while offering a few wilderness perks like complimentary stainless-steel water bottles and British Columbian wines. Relax in one of the rustic cedar hot tubs or socialise with other guests on the floating fire dock.
