Enjoy peace and tranquillity away from the crowds, while you discover the mystical stone circle of Stonehenge. Walking in the footsteps of ancient ancestors, explore the ancient inner circle, while your guide triggers your imagination with myths, legends and historical tales.

This iconic British symbol has a history spanning 4,500 years, and to each visitor it holds different meanings. By visiting early in the morning, or late afternoon, you can enjoy the peaceful setting without the tourists, as you wander through these ancient magical stones.

The Queen’s Residence – Windsor Castle

During this fascinating tour we take a trip to Windsor Castle, home to British monarchs for over 1,000 years. The castle encompasses 13 acres, with a long sweeping driveway, lined with ancient oaks at the entrance, and if the Union Jack is flying high, it means the Queen is in residence!

Spend time walking through magnificent State Apartments, furnished with fine antiques and paintings by the masters. Take in the splendour of St. George’s Chapel, the burial place of 10 monarchs, and a fine example of Gothic architecture, and imagine being entertained by royalty in the Semi-State Room.

Try to time your visit to see the Changing of the Guard – a colourful spectacle and national institution.

The Architecture + History of Oxford

Later we travel for around an hour to the University City of Oxford. This city is steeped in medieval history and beautiful buildings, and it’s hard to know where to begin!

Do try to visit the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology, University Church of St Mary the Virgin, and the Bodleian Library – Oxford University’s main research library. Alternatively, opt to go punting on the river, take a stroll through beautiful botanical gardens, or head to a charming old-world style café for afternoon tea.
