Venture Insight

What better way to enjoy the best of Botswana than in boutique accommodation ranging from a lodge in one of the most idyllic settings in the Okavango Delta, along the Khwai River overlooking the famous Moremi Game Reserve, a safari lodge with views over the Chobe River ending at the historic Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe.

Water-based safari

Arriving into Maun, you are met and transferred to a light aircraft to Xugana Island Lodge enjoying looking down one of the most amazing and complex environments – the Okavango Delta that lies in the middle of the largest expanse of sand. Your lodge for the next three nights is staying on a lodge accommodating only 16 guests in large, raised reed and thatch chalets with private viewing decks. Explore this private water concession by means of motorboat, mokoro or on guided nature walks of the surrounding islands on a fully inclusive basis.

50’s style glamping

Cross the Delta on a morning flight to the Khwai airstrip where you will be met and transferred to camp with a short game drive prior to your arrival (depending on your arrival time).  This family friendly camp is built in the classic 1950s style with spacious luxury safari tents situated along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. This is an unfenced boundary allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands and as it is a private concession there is the opportunity to do both walking safaris and night game drives.

Flood plain views

After bidding farewell to the team at Machaba Camp, transfer for your flight to Kasane Airport. Upon arrival it is a 45 minutes trip to Muchenje Safari Lodge, located on the quieter western side of Chobe National Park. The lodge overlooks the Chobe River and its impressive flood plains and included in your stay is a full day excursion wit boat trip and game drives with an amazing opportunity to break the usual safari cycle and get a more holistic experience within this region.

Colonial times

Transfer arrangements from the lodge to the Zimbabwe border to clear immigration formalities then continue the drive to Victoria Falls where on arrival at the Victoria Falls Hotel the rest of the day is at leisure to relax or perhaps visit the Falls following a direct path from the hotel. Popularly known as “the grand old lady of the Falls”, this Edwardian style five star hotel was built in 1904 and is set in lush tropical gardens that provide a sense of tranquility and seclusion.

10 nights' accommodation on a fully inclusive basis (all meals, local soft + alcoholic beverages + 2 safari activities per full day) at Xugana Island Lodge, Machaba Camp + Muchenje Safari Lodge); 1 night's accommodation on a bed + breakfast basis at Victoria Falls Hotel; National Park Fees + gov't taxes; shared light aircraft transfers Maun | Xugana | Machaba | Kasane Airport; shared road v=transfer from Muchenje Safari Lodge | Vic Falls | Vic Falls Airport.

Explore the contrasting landscapes of Namibia reminiscent of painted canvases by surrealist artists; put all five senses on high alert on the ultimate walking safari travelling between mobile camps set up along a river in Zambia.
